Review of CRAM - The Canadian Roundtable of Academic Materials
The high costs of academic materials is a major issue that affects students worldwide. The Canadian Roundtable On Academic Materials is an organization that is taking on this issue and is creating awareness in Canada with the goal of lowering prices of academic learning materials.
How to Get Involved
- Students - Contact your student association and ask what they are doing to reduce the rising cost of academic materials.
- Student Associations - start by doing everything possible to become well informed and then go and speak with your book store to find out how they feel about the situation and what collaboration efforts are possible for your campus.
- Book Stores - Contact your local student associations and inform them that you are willing to work with them. Engage in an open dialogue about the issue, listen to the students, and offer solutions on how you can help.
- Instructors - Write your student associations and local book stores and tell them that you back this initiative
- Librarians - Help spread the word and support the CRAM initiative by organizing meet ups between student associations, book stores, faculty, and students as well as publish news on your website and in your library to create awareness
- Publishers - join in the dialogue and build stronger relationships with your customers
